MULTIFIX Group acquires WeLLDesign: “From idea to end product, all under one roof”

MULTIFIX Group has acquired WeLLDesign, an industrial design and product development agency based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. This strategic move further strengthens MULTIFIX’s position as “your partner in the production process.”

By adding WeLLDesign’s expertise in industrial design, product engineering, prototyping, and testing, customers no longer need to bridge the gap between design and industrial manufacturability themselves. They now benefit from a fully integrated solution: from initial idea and product design to scalable production, assembly, and logistics.

A major step towards an optimized production process

Arno Heesters (CEO MULTIFIX): “With this acquisition, we are executing our buy-andbuild strategy and taking the next step toward achieving our ambitious growth targets. Our goal is to work alongside our customers from the earliest stages of product development. By sharing our expertise in manufacturability and scalability early in the process, we create a seamless link between design and production. Integrating WeLLDesign enables us to connect concept development, engineering, production, and supply chain into one smart, cohesive value chain. This helps our customers make well-informed design choices from the very start – decisions that can save tens of thousands of euros later in production thanks to shorter lead times, fewer transfer losses, and better control over end-to-end margins. In doing so, we strengthen our role as orchestrator of the production process and guide customers toward a future-proof, streamlined journey from development to delivery.”

Design powered by manufacturability

WeLLDesign has built an impressive portfolio, including projects such as the flower crate for Royal Flora Holland, Bobike child bike seats, the technical development of the Senseo coffee machine, and the industrial housing concept MorgenWonen by VolkerWessels. The team is currently working on groundbreaking innovations for leading companies across various industries. Mathijs van Dijk (Founder, WeLLDesign): “Nothing will change for our clients in how we operate. We’ll continue to work independently, under our own name and with our own team. Our creativity and hands-on approach remain unchanged – but with greater strength behind it. At the same time, this acquisition gives us more stability and room to grow. Together with MULTIFIX, we can directly connect design projects to production and supply chain. I have great confidence in this partnership and am proud that we’re securing the continuity of WeLLDesign for our employees, clients, and suppliers.”

One integrated solution: design, engineering, production & supply chain

In an era marked by labour shortages, rising product complexity, and increasing pressure on R&D budgets, the needs of the manufacturing industry are evolving. Companies are seeking partners who can contribute from the design stage - THE PARTNER IN YOUR PRODUCTION PROCESS. specifically in developing manufacturable and scalable components and subassemblies. This is exactly where MULTIFIX and WeLLDesign unite their strengths. Arno Heesters adds: “There is a growing demand for integrated, software-driven products, while regulatory and sustainability requirements are becoming more complex. At the same time, shorter time-to-market expectations are pushing companies to innovate faster, often with limited internal capacity. Our collaboration offers a single, streamlined process - from design to production - that is flexible, scalable, and fully aligned with the demands of today’s market.”
