The Design Challenge
MyCuby, a modular bathroom system for endless variation and fully industrial production. Mathijs van Dijk, CEO WeLLDesign, developed the modular bathroom system based on his vision and idea. The industrialization was realized in collaboration with Timmerfabriek De Mors. De Mors – a VolkerWessels company – is launching myCuby on the market.
The Solution
The system is based on the ‘platform thinking’ and can be placed in a home, hotel, loft, as a complete plug and play 3D module. The system can also be brought into a building through the front door or elevator as complete 2D modules. You can built a complete sanitary bathroom within a few hours. Or a combination of sanitary room and kichen.
A modular system
The unique aspect is that the system is constructed from self-supporting walls that are cleverly formed in the automated production process. Therefore, no frame system is used, which saves on parts and thus labour and costs.
It is also interesting that we have developed a modular system on the basis of which different types and capacities could be produced.
It is simple to create narrow and wide walls, as well as small to very large rooms with more or less luxurious furnishings.

Prototyping
WeLLDesign realized the first models with 3D printing and produced and tested the first prototypes. In collaboration with De Mors, the product was made ready for production.
The modular bathroom systems are built in series production at Timmerfabriek de Mors and stored until they are sent to the customer.
Plug-and-play bathroom
MyCuby is available in an infinite number of variations in dimensions, equipment and design, like high gloss aluminum or natural stone. The outer side of the system is also variable in design. MyCuby is suitable for appliance in the hospital and home care. The system offers possibilities of accessibility, security, assembly and it is easy to clean.
Flexibility
myCuby can be configured in an infinite number of variations in dimensions, equipment and design. From a robust high-gloss aluminium interior cladding to natural stone. The exterior is also variable in design and material application.
The accessibility, security, cleanability and mounting options of myCuby make it suitable for the entire lifespan. As a result, it is therefore suitable for applications in intra- and extramural care.
