Treehold, the product that WeLLDesign was allowed to develop, was on display last week in the palace gardens of Versailles. The reactions were very positive.
The palace gardens of Versailles contain hundreds of chestnut trees, most of which are very old. Chestnut bleeding disease in these types of old chestnuts is not uncommon and the Treehold can cure these trees in just 4 hours. The demo was mainly to show how easy the Treehold is to apply and remove and they received very positive responses.

A time reduction of about 90 percent
Where sick chestnut trees were previously treated with expensive, complex and, above all, time-consuming treatments, saving a chestnut tree has become a lot easier with the Treehold. The treehold is particularly notable for its enormous improvement over the previous method. Previously, one individual tree had to be packed for up to 48 hours. Marc Derksen of Treehold: “We thought: this has to be done faster, otherwise municipalities will only tackle monumental trees. A treatment with infrared heat is just as effective, but much more durable and efficient. You have treated one tree in 4 hours. A time reduction of about 90 percent.”

‘When nature needs help’
Treehold's dream is to ensure that every sick chestnut can be treated, even if it is not a monumental tree. With a treatment that is much faster and cheaper, more trees can be saved, and in this way Treehold hopes to make the world greener. And above all, of course: being able to preserve the existing greenery. It is not without reason that Treehold's slogan is 'when nature needs help'.
Received with praise
With the successful demonstration in the palace gardens of Versailles, Treehold is one step closer to a large-scale application of this new method. And this of course also makes us very happy as designers: that one of our products is received with so much praise is of course very good news.
