10 years of MorgenWonen: a very successful concept conceived by WeLLDesign
VolkerWessels' MorgenWonen housing concept is 10 years old.
In 2010 came Mathijs van Dijk, CEO of WeLLDesign, spoke with VolkerWessels and managed to convince them that a terraced house should be buildable in 1 day. And time has flown by: MorgenWonen is already celebrating its 10th anniversary.
About MorgenWonen
The concept arose from thinking in platforms and prioritising logistics.
As MorgenWonen had to be assembled quickly, it was also immediately understood that it had to be demountable. And, of course, with excellent energy performance.
WeLLDesign then developed the system in detail – together with a team from VolkerWessels. The building system was optimised through a prototype and a pilot run – which represented a completely new way of thinking for the construction industry.
For MorgenWonen, many innovations have been developed and brought together: the stair unit, the floor concept, the foundation concept, construction logistics, the energy unit, and of course, the myCuby bathroom.
It is an unparalleled success and the benchmark for the market. It was emulated by several construction companies.
