ZaaK® in Dutch Designers Annual

From GIO Recognition to spotlighted

WeLLDesign specialises in product development for ‘industrial building’. Corona inspired us to develop the ‘ZaaK®’ garden office based on an industrial building concept. During Dutch Design Week, it received the Good Industrial Design (GIO) 2020 Acknowledgement. The Dutch Designers Yearbook 2020 selected ‘the dreamers, poets, daring spirits, and world-improvers’ among the designers.

The Dutch Designers yearbook is a publication by the BNO. The BNO is an association founded by designers, for designers. When it was established in 1904, it was called the VANK: Dutch Association for Arts and Crafts. Today, it is the largest community of designers and design agencies in the Netherlands. Alongside their primary activity of promoting and supporting designers, they also publish Dutch Designers magazine and an annual yearbook. The yearbook covers a full year of Dutch design. That is why it is all the more special that ZaaK® garden office, a garden office developed in just a few months, receives an extensive mention in this.

ZaaK® is constructed from lightweight, recyclable sandwich panels that combine structural support and thermal insulation. This results in a very simple overall design, which limits the number of components and therefore the assembly time.

The ZaaK® concept is also unique because deeper and linked variants are also possible. This makes the ZaaK® garden office suitable for any garden or landscape and for multiple applications for working alone or with several people. More details can also be found on the own website of the case.

That drive also gave rise to the ZaaK® garden office. By using the latest lightweight and recyclable materials, WeLLDesign is taking the next step in cheaper, faster and more sustainable construction. The modular concept is a follow-up to the MyCuby bathroom systems and the MorgenWonen project conceived by WeLLDesign and developed in detail together with VolkerWessels.
