VolkerWessels builds a home in a single day for the 500th time
The 500th time
For the 500th time, a MorgenWonen home has been put together, in Dongen. This zero-energy bill home is so special because it is assembled in less than a day. A zero-energy bill home is a home that has an energy bill of zero euros at the end of the year.
The MorgenWonen concept was conceived by WeLLDesign and designed down to the last detail according to a systematic product development process. This completely new housing construction concept by VolkerWessels was introduced two years ago by Dik Wessels.

automotive industry
Just like in the automotive industry, the work is done industrially. By using smart interchangeable platform elements, construction can take place at an unprecedented speed. Each platform element is manufactured in advance in the factory under ideal conditions. After transport to the site, the components are easily assembled. This guarantees high quality, reliable and fast delivery, and keeps disruption and construction waste on site to a minimum. Only a few extra days are needed for the complete finishing and furnishing of the home. As soon as the key is received, the organisation of the housewarming can therefore already begin.
Clever construction
This clever construction has now been used for the 500th time. As quickly as a home can be assembled, it can also be taken apart again. This makes it very easy to move an entire home from one location to another. Without demolition and without using new building materials.

MorgenWonen fully finished
The MorgenWonen homes are so complete upon delivery that you can move your own belongings straight in. Everything has been thought of: the home is delivered complete with flooring, stair carpeting and painted walls. Furthermore, the property features a fully fitted bathroom and a luxury kitchen with an A-rated dishwasher, fridge-freezer, combination microwave, induction hob and stainless steel extractor hood.
Sustainability
MorgenWonen means environmentally conscious and comfortable living. The home is exceptionally well insulated and all windows are fitted with triple glazing. No central heating boiler, but a sustainable heat pump that extracts heat from the outside air. MorgenWonen does not use fossil fuels, and the homes have no gas connection. The roof is covered with solar panels on the south side, which generate their own energy. The smart meter shows how much energy is used from the grid and how much is fed back into it. Thanks to these measures, residents who are mindful of their energy consumption have no energy bills.
