Multifunctional dispenser for NuJus

What is it?

The patented Many Portion Dispenser dispenses portions from a sachet of approx. 2.3 litres of viscous foodstuffs such as sauces, soups or porridge without the ‘consumable’ – the foodstuff that the consumer consumes – coming into contact with parts of the dispenser. When the sachet is empty, a new sachet with a different foodstuff can be inserted without the dispenser needing to be cleaned.

The portion size is adjustable and the dispenser can heat its contents and keep them at the desired temperature. The emptied sachet is completely compressed by the machine, thus leaving a very small residual volume.

The dispenser is operated by Nutritious Juices & Soups BV.

Design brief

The desire was for a sleek, future-proof and distinctive design. The focus was entirely on the user; the controls it had to be as intuitive as possible. In addition, there was a strong focus on changing the packaging of the ‘consumable’This had to be done as quickly and easily as possible. and without the consumable comes into contact with parts of the machine. With those challenges, we are at WellDesign got started. After an extensive process, here is the final design for the Many Portion Dispenser arrived.

Unique selling points of the Many Portion Dispenser

Intuitive use

The use of the Many Portion The dispenser is self-explanatory and very user-friendly. The device can be operated with a single twist and press button. For the end-user, it's simply a matter of pressing the button to get the desired dosage.

Use of dispenser

The dispenser can be used in two scenarios. Firstly, as a desktop device, where an employee serves the customer, as in a café or restaurant. Secondly, the dispenser can be operated by the consumer themselves, such as at a food festival or a company canteen.

No need to clean

The unique aspect of this patented device is that the consumable, what the user will ingest, does not come into contact with parts of the dispenser. By placing a fully sealed pouch in the dispenser and squeezing it against the spout between doses, complete hygiene is achieved.

Cleaning the dispenser is not necessary and therefore time-saving. As no hose pump is used either, the packaging remains very simple and therefore cost-effective. WeLLDesign was able to use knowledge and experience developed over the years in the field of dosing & dispensing.

Light packaging can be removed easily and quickly

On the specially developed packaging there is a QR code which is read by the device. The ingredients, allergens and expiry date are then visible on a screen. The QR code is also a security measure against ‘foreign’ packaging or the reuse of already opened packaging.

GIO recognition

The Many Portion Dispenser received the Good Industrial Design (GIO) award in 2020. The dispenser was presented at the GIO exhibition of Dutch Design Week in the Klokgebouw.
