Design brief

Because of the growing interest in delicious home cooking and more convenience in the kitchen, Inventum, supplier of boilers, looking for its own combination tap/boiler. WeLLDesign developed the technical booster concept together with them: Aquaspot and Hotspot Titanium.

Development

WeLLDesign, together with Inventum, developed the technical booster concept. This connects an extra heating element to a standard boiler, making instant boiling water possible. WeLLDesign also handled the design of the boiler and the three taps with electronic touch control. The Aquaspot is user-friendly, child-safe, and fits any kitchen interior.

The Hotspot and Aquaspot

The accompanying tap safely provides instant boiling water, perfect for a cup of tea, making sauces, skinning tomatoes, quickly cooking pasta, and blanching vegetables.

The tap is made from titanium. Titanium is strong, lightweight, does not corrode, and does not suffer from limescale buildup inside the tap. This ensures that pure boiling water always comes out. The touch button not only provides a visually pleasing appearance but is also a valuable addition for child safety.

The Hotspot Titanium This is Inventum's first consumer product for *above* the worktop. This represents a boost for the brand! The fact that the boiler is also used by competitor GROHE Red underlines the quality level.

The boiling water tap won the iF Product Design Award in 2011. From the 2756 entries, the international jury of iF Hannover proclaimed the Aquaspot as one of the winners within the 'kitchen/household' category. In addition, the tap also received two GIO recognitions.
