Since its introduction In the early 1980s, the Hartman Royal Club introduced, now a design classic. For more than 10 years, this would be the most successful garden chair on the market. WeLLDesign developed the design and the construction. The Royal Club was the first mass-produced and affordable for everyone, and also recyclable polypropylene garden chair ever.
A worldwide success
The simple but efficient folding mechanism is robust and does not lose its function. The garden chairs that are indestructible. Not only a success in the Netherlands, but worldwide.
Iconic
Although now out of production, many households still have these chairs. And if not, they are taken to a garden party. The success is not only measured by the number of years of production. The fact that people sometimes say ‘I’ll take a Hartman with me’, referring to this chair, says more than enough.
Awards en prizes
The Royal Club garden chair has won many awards and recognitions. For example, the garden chair won the ‘Plastic Garden Product’ from Deutsches Fachinstitut für Kunststoffe, a GIO Award (Good Industrial Design) as well as a Reddot design award, the Gouden Noot and the chair was selected as a finalist for the Dutch Design Awards.
