Do you have an innovative idea on the shelf with a collaboration partner that you want to develop into a concrete product?

WeLLDesign specialises in the development of products and systems that are produced in series or mass-produced, and you can receive a subsidy for the deployment of WeLLDesign: the MIT R&D 2020.

Subsidy scheme for innovation — The Mijnwater project is a prime example of a result from such a subsidy scheme. This model was exhibited at Dutch Design Week and served as a model at the GIO Awards exhibition in the Cube Museum.

WeLLDesign can help you with formulating the application and with guiding the submission, either with our subsidy advisor or yours (on a no cure, no pay basis).

The scheme is now open and applications must be submitted by September 10th at the latest.

The MIT R&D grant amounts to a maximum of €350,000 for a large application and €200,000 for a small application, based on 35% of the eligible costs. The ‘optimal’ eligible project costs are therefore approximately €1,000,000 and €570,000 respectively.

Eligible costs are: personnel costs, equipment, materials, patent research.
Subsidiable activities include market research, patent research, literature study, inventory of available technology, inventory of potential partners, drafting specifications, and building a basic prototype.

Industrial design subsidy, prototyping — This model has been built using custom 3D printed and laser-cut parts. It shows the design and also the scale immediately.

Examples of MIT R&D grants based on maximum utilisation of a small application

When you and your collaboration partner(s) invest €370,000 of your own money out-of-pocket into a project, WeLLDesign can be deployed for industrial design work to the full value of €200,000, this being fully subsidised.
If you and your collaboration partner(s) invest €370,000 of your own hours, approximately 3.5 man-years of work, the commitment from WeLLDesign for industrial design work / activities up to a maximum of €200,000 is covered. All external costs will then be covered by the subsidy.
Or if you carry out work for WeLLDesign with a value of €570,000, you will receive €200,000 back in subsidy. Your out-of-pocket costs are therefore limited to €370,000.
